  • Takeoffs – I can take off the quantities of your project and build a bill of quantities within a spreadsheet.
  • Fully priced bills of quantities – I can price the bill of quantities within the spreadsheet. The cost for each item is split down into labour, plant, and materials at a built-up rate.
  • Value engineering – I can look at alternative methods of construction and cost them out to value engineer a project.
  • Project planning – I have the data from the priced bill of quantities and develop a project plan.
  • Event sheet system – The event sheet system allows you to collect site data for variations and claims.
  • Buy pre-prepared fully priced bills of quantities models – We have models of extensions, loft conversions, new house builds you can buy.

The estimates are produced in spreadsheets so you can adjust them and develop them for cost planning and valuations. Feel free to request a sample spreadsheet.

Frequently asked questions

What’s your backstory?

I started my career as a joiner at seventeen, became a foreman at the age of twenty-one, and then became a setting-out engineer for a large civil engineering company for a year.

I progressed at college, ending up with a HNC in construction and doing the CIOB course. During this period, I became an estimator, QS and project manager for a small building company I served my time with.

At the age of twenty-nine, I was given a directorship in the company, but I left at the age of thirty-five to build my own civil engineering business.

The company started trading in 1990 with the first year turnover of £400,000. The turnover grew to several million over fifteen years.
I was the CEO and estimator.

How does the service work?

Step 1 – Send me the project drawings and specifications to review. We will then discuss the service I can provide. We agree on a fee and a project timeline.

Step 2 – I will produce a bill of quantities to SMM7/NRM2 and build a shopping list to send out enquiries.

Step 3 – You obtain prices for materials and any sub-contract work and send all the cost data to me. It is better for you to do this as you will have accounts and may get better prices.

Step 4 – I will fully price the bill of quantities building up labour, plant and material built-up rates.

Step 5 – When complete, I will send the bill of quantities to you for review. I can adjust the rates to suit your tender strategy.
